Public Education Funding

Our public schools need infrastructure funding without putting the burden on the tax payer. We have watched millages fail time and time again and the kids in our communities suffer. Our teachers are leaving their profession due to being overworked and underpaid. When I get to Lansing, I will work to create a Public School Infrastructure fund and a State funded teaching salary grant program, which includes loan forgiveness. The state of Michigan is 44th in the nation in reading levels. This is unacceptable. It’s time for investment into our children rather than for profit billion dollar corporations.
